BINDING re:DEFINED UKから5月～7月のワークショップのお知らせです。

5月17～18日、19～20日の２回のワークショップは、アメリカ人製本家Emily Martinが担当。

6月2～3日の回では、Benjamin EbelがEdelpappbandの構造を披露します。7月5～6日は、Lori Sauerによるsawn-on-bindingを応用した製本技法の紹介です。

Ms.Lori Sauer, an Okaeri participant from the UK, announces a series
of workshops as follows;

The 2012 programme of courses offered by BINDING re:DEFINED for May, June and July are listed below.

The first two workshops on the 17/18th and the 19/20th of May are led by American book artist Emily Martin. On June 2/3rd Benjamin Elbel will demonstrate how the Edelpappband is made. Lori Sauer shows how to create her modification of the sewn-board binding on July 5/6th.

おかえりプロジェクト展が盛況のうちに終わりました OKAERI PROJECT in Ofunato finished with great success

アルバムを制作してくださった皆様へ、ご来場のみなさまより感謝の言葉をいっぱいいただきました。そして、この言葉は私たちへの確かな手ごたえと励みにもなりました。

ありがとうございました！

“見たことのないステキなアルバムを見せていただき感激しています。製作してくれた方々に感謝申し上げます。アルバムを見ながら日々元気でがんばります。（末崎町60代女）”

4月7日にはワークショップを開催、その様子も東海新報紙上で大きく取り上げていただきました。

Visitors to the exhibition expressed their appreciation to our friends who made the OKAERI photo albums.

"I am deeply moved. I've never seen such wonderful photo albums before. I am so grateful to the makers of the albums. I keep moving forward with the album by my side." (Female in her 60s)

We held a workshop on the 7th of April. Tokai Shimpo wrote a large article on the whorkshop.

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」【2日目】　Okaeri Project in Ofunato-Day 2

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」2日目！！！
今朝も来場者様が並んでお待ちしておりました^^
本当に皆様、心待ちしてくださっていたのですね。感謝、感動です！

NHK様が6時台のニュースで2回！
7:45からの「おはよういわて」と、計3回放映してくださいました！
そして、昨日に続き”東海新報”様が記事掲載してくださいました。

「テレビみました！素敵な作品がたくさん展示されているので来ました！」「東海新報見ました」と言って
来場される方がとても多かったです。
その中で「大船渡で、こんな素晴らしい展示会を開催してくれて本当にありがとうございます」
というお話をされた方もいらっしゃいました。
これも一重に東京製本倶楽部の皆様、このプロジェクトに賛同してくださった海外の仲間たち、おかえりプロジェクトの参加者の皆様、そして共催してくださった大船渡市の皆様のおかげです。
本当に心より感謝いたしております。

【4月6日　東海新報記事】

今日は、おかえりプロジェクト運営委員2人、東京製本倶楽部ボランティアの山崎曜様（初日からお手伝いいただいております）、地元ボランティアさん2人でフル稼動しておりました^^

来場者様も途切れる事なく来てくださいました。
写真を撮っている時間がありませんでした。ごめんなさい。

The second day of the exhibition "OKAERI Project in Ofunato" !!

Visitors were queuing this morning, too.

We were thrilled to know that many people were looking forward to the project, and we are also thankful to everybody!

NHK has broadcasted the event total 3 times in their programmes.Tokai Shimpo covered the exhibition today, too.

Many visitors came to the exhibition saying " I came here as I saw on the television many lovely albums displayed !" and " I read an article in the newspaper."

Some people said " I want to say thank you for holding such a great exhibition in Ofunato!".

The corporation of our friends abroad who kindly supported and joined the project, people in Ofunato, and the members of Tokyo Bookbinding Club has been highly regarded! Thank you to you all!

Today, 2 committee members of the Okaeri Project, Yo Yamazaki, a volunteer staff of Tokyo Bookbinding Club who have helped the exhibition from the first day, and two local volunteers helped the exhibition.

People visited the exhibition uninterrupted.

There was even no time to take photographs!

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」【初日】 Okaeri Project in Ofunato- Day 1

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」いよいよ開催です！！！！！

今朝、運営委員と東京製本倶楽部のスタッフと総勢8名、
会場である大船渡市民文化会館マルチスペースに到着。
最初にキャット・ウォークに製本道具のディスプレイを行いました。

3階の通路からマルチスペースを見る事ができます。
広い会場に400点以上のアルバムが展示されております！

キャット・ウォークのディスプレイが完了し、マルチスペースへ行こうと降りた時・・・

マルチスペースの前に行列が！！！！！！！！！！！！！！
皆さんに「・・・アルバムの予約に並んでいらっしゃるのでしょうか？？」と伺ってみたら・・・

「はい！！予約にきました！！」「作品が来るのを待ってました！！予約したいです！！」
という皆さんの声が！！！

皆さん、10時前から並んで待っていてくださいました！（感動！！

オープンと同時に大勢の方々が押し寄せ、カタログと作品を見ながら次々と”予約”が入っていきました。
東京製本倶楽部のスタッフの皆様の対応もすばらしく、全てがスムーズに進みました。

入場者様達も4時過ぎまで途絶えませんでした。

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」初日の様子は、明日の東海新報様に掲載される予定です。

夕方、NHK様が取材に来てくださいました。
明日の朝7:45からの”おはよう岩手”で放映される予定です！

初日で100冊以上の予約が入りました！

「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」を皆様、心待ちしてくださっていたようです。
来場者様からは”どれも素晴らしい作品で感動しました！”という声が多く聞かれております。

世界14カ国から200名以上の参加者の想い、そして今日この大船渡展開催までに関わった東京製本倶楽部有志一同の協力に感激・感動して泣きだしてしまった方もいらっしゃいました。

作品の展示・予約は4月8日（日）午後3時までとなります。
※寄贈は4月8日（日）午後3時～5時

The exhibition "Okaeri Project in Ofunato" has started!!!!!

This morning, 8 members of Tokyo Bookbinding Club including the

project's committee members arrived at the venue.

We displayed some bookbinding tools on the catwalk.

You can view the exhibition venue from the 3rd floor.

More than 400 photo albums are exhibited in the large space.

When we went to downstairs to go to enter the exhibition venue after

completing the display on the catwalk,

we found out people queuing in front of the venue entrance!!!!!!!!

We asked whether they were queuing to make a reservation to receive an album.

The answers were "Yes! I came to make a reservation!!", "I've waited for the albums to arrive.I want to make a reservation!!" etc...

They came and lined up from before the opening hour!! ( We were very touched!)

A large number of people rushed to the venue when it opened. They looked at the albums and catalog, and one album after another was booked.

Staff's handling was excellent so that everything went very smoothly.

Constant flow of visitors did not stop up to after 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

You will be able to check an article in the Tokai Shimpo on how the exhibition appeared on the first day.

In the evening, NHK(Japan Broadcasting Corporation)　came to cover the event. This will be broadcasted in the programme "Ohayo, Iwate" from 7:45 am tomorrow!

More than 100 photo albums were booked on the first day.

We are happy to know that many people were looking forward to the exhibition '"OKAERI Project in Ofunato".

We have heard many visitors saying "All photo albums are so beautiful that I was deeply moved!"

There were also some people who started crying by knowing the spirit of more than 200 bookbinders from 14 countries and the corporation of the volunteers.

The exhibition and reservation is up to 15:00 on Sunday, the 8th of April.

※Photo albums will be donated between 15:00 to 17:00 on the 8th of April.

いよいよ明日から「おかえりプロジェクト　大船渡展」が開催されます！！

"OKAERI Project in Ofunato" starts tomorrow.

This morning, 3 committee members of OKAERI Project visited

Tokai Shimpo and the major of Ofunato city.

悪天候の中、今朝8時過ぎに岩手県立美術館を出発した400冊を超えるアルバム達は12時前には大船渡に到着いたしました！！

”世界14カ国からようこそ！大船渡へ！”

250人以上の製本家達が東日本大震災で被災した方々へ”なにか自分達にできる事はないか？！という想いから
始まったこの「おかえりプロジェクト」
世界各国から被災地の皆様へいろんな想いを込めてつくられた手つくりの創作アルバムが東京へ送られ、東京製本倶楽部の有志一同の皆様により作品のデータ化、ナンバリング、リストの作成、その他細かい作業が続けられました。
そして、3月3日より岩手県立美術館で展示され・・・
今日、最終目的地の大船渡に到着しました！
（現地運営委員、感動で胸がいっぱいです・・・）

明日から、いよいよ展示会です。
全てのアルバムが被災された皆様の”家族”として迎えられ、そして「家族の歴史」または「新しい家族の記録」を収める大切な品となってくれる事を希望します。

大船渡市民文化会館の「おかえりプロジェクト大船渡展」担当の近江さん。
キャット・ウォークに”東京製本倶楽部”の紹介パネルを展示してくださいました。

同館内にある大船渡市立図書館にも「おかえりプロジェクト」の作品が20展、展示してあります。
こちらも見てくださいね^^

展示作業終了後、みんなで記念撮影。お疲れ様でした！
※運営委員の伊東陽子さんは展示期間中、遠野から通ってくださるので（片道約1時間）暗くなる前に帰られたため集合写真には入っておりません。次回は是非！

In the bad weather, over 400 photo albums had left Iwate Museum of Art sometime after8 o'clock, and arrived Ofunato before 12 o'clock.

"Welcome to Ofunato from 14 countries around the world!"

More than 250 bookbinders decided to do something for the 3.11 victims and OKAERI Project has started. Hand-made photo albums were sent to Tokyo from all over the world, data of all albums have been compiled by some volunteer staff of Tokyo Bookbinding Club, all albums were numbered, several lists were made, and other detailed works have been

carried.

These were followed by the exhibition in Iwate Museum of Art starting the 3rd of March, and finally, the albums arrived in Ofunato, the final destination.

(Local committee member is filled with emotion!)

The exhibition in Ofunato starts tomorrow. We expect all albums to be welcomed by the victims as their "family", and to become a precious item for put the" family history" and "memories of new family".

Mr. Oumi, who is in charge of the exhibiton "OKAERI Project in Ofunato" at the Ofunato City Hall. He displayed a panel to introduce Tokyo Bookbinding Club on the catwalk.

20 photo albums of the Okaeri Project is exhibited in the Ofunato City Library in the same building. Please have a look! (Those exhibited in the library will be also donated.)

You will find some albums on the shelf behind the library counter!

A commemorative photo was taken when the display work finished. Well done to you all!

Yoko Ito, a committee member, is not on the photo, as she commutes from Tohno (1 hour away) during the exhibition period and left the venue before it got dark.
